Cookie Policy
What a Cookie Is
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser when you visit it. The next time your browser loads a page from the same site, it sends that file back, which lets the site recognise the session, remember settings or measure how pages are used.
Several other technologies work in a similar way, including pixels, web beacons, local storage and SDKs in mobile apps. Their technical details differ, but because they serve much the same purpose, this page refers to all of them as cookies.
Why We Use Cookies
Cookies on the 4Rabet India website are used for five main purposes:
- Loading pages correctly and keeping a session stable while you browse.
- Protecting sessions and sensitive data against interference and misuse.
- Remembering your earlier choices, such as language, region or layout, so you don’t have to set them again.
- Showing us where the site struggles, so we can speed up slow pages and fix sections that confuse visitors.
- Making promotions and content more relevant to you, but only where local rules allow it and only after you agree.
A cookie can’t read anything else on your device. It has no access to your photos, documents or messages. It is simply a small piece of text exchanged between your browser and a web server, and that’s all it does.
Types of Cookies and What They Do
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies keep the site running and can’t be switched off in our settings. They are used for:
- keeping your session active as you move between pages;
- detecting suspicious activity and helping prevent fraud;
- spreading traffic across servers so the site stays fast under heavy load;
- making forms, navigation and other core features work properly.
If you block them in your browser, parts of the site will stop working. We can’t change that, because the site depends on these cookies to function.
Preference Cookies
Preference cookies store the settings you’ve chosen, such as language, region and interface layout, so you don’t have to pick them again on your next visit. If you disable them, the site still loads, but it won’t remember your preferences and every visit will start from the default settings.
Analytics and Performance Cookies
Analytics cookies show how the site is used: which pages load, how long visits last, where people click, when they leave and whether something went wrong along the way. We look at overall patterns rather than individual people, and use them to find bugs, speed up slow pages and improve sections where visitors get stuck.
Where the law requires consent before these cookies are activated, we ask for it first. If you say no, they stay off.
Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies link your activity on the site to the offers you see. If you look at a particular promotion, they help show related content later instead of something random. They also measure whether a campaign worked: whether people clicked, signed up or ignored it.
Some of these cookies are set by partners that handle advertising and measurement, and they follow their own privacy policies. If you block marketing cookies, you’ll still see promotions, but they won’t be tailored to you, and we lose the ability to tell whether a campaign was worth running.
Your Cookie Choices
Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting any cookies other than strictly necessary ones. You can change your choice at any time in the cookie settings panel on the website.
Turning off some categories will change how the site behaves. That’s a trade-off, not a penalty. Strictly necessary cookies stay on in every case, because the site can’t work without them.
Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Every major browser lets you manage cookies in its settings. Depending on the browser, you can usually:
- block all cookies from every website;
- block only third-party cookies while allowing first-party ones;
- allow cookies only for sites you choose and block the rest;
- delete cookies that are already stored.
If you block everything, the site may not work properly. If you delete cookies, your saved preferences are reset and the site will treat your next visit as a new one.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the site are set by other companies that provide analytics, security tools or advertising and measurement services. We don’t control how those companies use the data once it leaves our domain, and their own privacy policies apply.
You can limit third-party cookies through our settings panel and through your browser. Each option works on its own, and using both gives you the most control.
Cookies and Links to Other Websites
This site contains links that lead to external websites, including the 4Rabet platform. When you follow such a link, the destination site and its partners may set their own cookies, for example to record where the visit came from. Those cookies are governed by the destination site’s own cookie and privacy policies, not by this page, so it’s worth reading them before you register or share any personal details there.
What Information Cookies Collect
Cookies store technical information such as a session ID, device and browser identifiers, and the pages you viewed along with the date and time. On its own, this information doesn’t identify you personally.
If cookie data is combined with information that does identify you, for example details you enter into a form, it is treated as personal data and handled accordingly.
How Long Cookies Are Stored
Every cookie has an expiry date. There are two main types:
- Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser and last for a single visit only.
- Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them yourself.
How long a persistent cookie lasts depends on what it’s for. A preference cookie may be kept for around a year, while an analytics cookie may expire after a few months. You can remove any of them at any time in your browser settings.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal to the websites you visit. There’s no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to it, so our site may not react to this signal. If you want to limit tracking, use the cookie settings on our website together with your browser’s controls, which work whether or not Do Not Track is enabled.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this page when we change the cookies we use or when legal requirements change. The latest version is always published here, and we recommend checking it from time to time to stay informed about how cookies are used on the site.
